Gwyneth Paltrow buys new LA mansion

By Amber Clery in News on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 - 10:24

According to TMZ Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay front man Chris Martin have dropped $10.45 million for a new luxury mansion in LA known as The House of Windsor. The six bedroom, eight bathroom pad is a collaborative concept house dreamed up by famed architect and designer Windsor Smith in partnership with Veranda magazine and outfitted by an array of top designers including Candace Barnes, Kathryn M Ireland and Martyn Laurence Bullard and many more.

Hardwood floors run the length of this corridor which is kitted out with beautiful ornate mirrors and a wall of built-ins.

The living room designed by Windsor Smith features a rustic fireplace, a large ethnic print ottoman and a large sectional sofa.

The kitchen is to die for. Also designed by Smith features a state of the art range, Calacatta white marble surfaces and stainless steel appliances including a built-in coffee maker and wine chiller. We especially love the beautiful grey cabinetry and mismatched chairs around the island. Ahh.. we can always dream.

The wacky study was designed by Peter Dunham and features a bright green office desk and quirky leopard print wallpaper. It's no secret we're big fans of brightly coloured furniture here at House and Home.

This guest bedroom was designed by Tara Shaw and features the grey and pink colour scheme we're loving right now. This room looks so serene and fresh.

This amazing bathroom /dressing room was designed by Candace Barnes and features an incredible antique silver bath tub, custom cabinetry and a beautiful antique mirrored screen.

Most of the house is painted in a soft neutral palette of white, grey and greige and is drenched with natural light through those fabulous sash windows and French doors. The house features a front and back courtyard and has a whopping 8,000 square feet of living space which should provide the couple and their children plenty of space while they're living on the West coast.

We're loving the outdoor fireplace and fabulous wicker dining set. Well for some, huh?
