It's hip to be square: Irish designer Orla Reynolds' space saver impresses

By House and Home in News on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 - 16:28
as if from nowhere

We love this clever solution from young Irish furniture designer Orla Reynolds and we're so tickled that it's lit up international blogs like Freshome.com of late too. Reynolds' modular As if from nowhere concept combines a bookcase, four dining chairs and two tables in a colour-coded cube that's pretty perfect for you if you're a small space liver. Buy more combinations to make more dining opportunities!

But y'know, we also knew we regonised this canny lass from somewhere. Wracking our brains, we had it: House and Home shortlisted Orla for her talents in our 2010 Student Design Awards when she was a finalist for her Lapstop design, a product that married function with form.

as if from nowhere out of the box

With As if from nowhere, Orla's definitely stretching her design wings and we predict a bright future for this DIT graduate. Bravo.
